FREEDOM OF INFORMATION
The Freedom of Information Act came into force at the beginning of 2005 and encourages greater openness and transparency across the whole public sector. The Information Commissioner's Office has produced a new model publication scheme and the Parish Council has adopted the Model Publication Scheme.

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
This new legislation came into effect on the 25 May 2018. The regulations require all Parish Councils to ensure that they clearly show residents how their personal information will be used, and that they have appropriate procedures in place to ensure that personal data is not lost, mis-used, inappropriately shared or stored unnecessarily.

Accounting Information and Annual Return for the year endeding 31 March 2018:
Smaller authorities where the higher of gross annual income or gross annual expenditure does not exceed £25,000 and meet the qualifying criteria as set out in the Certificate of Exemption are exempt from sending the completed Annual Governance and Accountability Return to the external auditor for a limited assusance review provided the authority completes both the Certificate of Exemption and the AGAR (Part 2)
